Oh... I get it now.
That problem you just mentioned was quite pain in the neck when I was playing Arcade and Survivor mode.

then I suppose there won't be no random select in next update as well?

This must be the greatest metal slug fan-game I've ever seen!

It would nice if there is random option to select characters.

For problems with installation just download all stuff and:

Extract SW_01_folder. The folder MSW-Steel Warriors will be created.

Put SW_02_data, SW_03_chars, SW_04_sound and SW_05_stages into the MSW-Steel Warriors folder.

Go into the MSW-Steel Warriors folder.
extract SW_02_data
extract SW_03_chars
extract SW_04_sound
extract SW_05_stages
